Share Your Christian Confession
James 5:16 (NIV)
16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
1 John 1:9-10 (NIV)
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.
These verses make it clear that we should take opportunities to confess our sins to each other. If we do so with sincerity and with a repentant spirit, God is faithful to forgive us of our sins. There is a website that makes sharing your Christian confession easy. You can also read other people’s confessions too. Visit www.myconfession.com.

Putting your confessions on a web site is NOT in keeping with the mandate we have in James 5:16. James was writing to the saints – people who were spiritually mature and trustworthy. Notice it says that “the prayers of a righteous man …” – indicating that you are confessing to a righteous man and he then is praying with you about that sin for which you need healing.
We get forgiveness as soon as we confess to God. But for healing, we really must go through the James 5:16 process. That will never be accomplished on a web site, on a stage, etc. The confessor must stand “spiritually naked” before the confessee – being examined, having no secrets, etc.
Too many people think that because they confess something on stage, on a web site, radio show or whatever – they are confessing. That is not confession in the Biblical sense.
